摘要: The prestress loss is one of the main factors affecting the safety of prestressed concrete structure. While the detecting signals like sound and light are diffcult to spread in steel strands, there is no effective method for prestress detection of the bonded prestressed steel strands in existing structures yet. In this paper, taking into consideration that the electromagnetic oscillation characteristic can make the signal propagate effectively on the bonded prestressed steel strands, a nondestructive prestress detection method based on the electromagnetic effect to detect oscillation frequency is proposed. In a detection circuit, the steel strands are simulated as an inductance component, in which an induced electromagnetic signal passes through the steel strands to form resonance. And then, a frequency meter is used to detect the oscillation frequency of the resonant circuit. The oscillation frequency is supposed to have relationship with the prestress loading on the steel strands. A section of steel strands with a length of 1.2 m is adopted to test the correlation of stress and oscillation frequency. Both the theoretical and experimental results show that the resonant frequency of the circuit decreases with the increase of the stress of the strand and is linear in a certain range.

摘要: Desertification and climate warming have affected the stability of the crushed-rock interlayer embankment of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway (QTR) in the permafrost zone. The two-phase closed thermosyphon (TPCT) is adopted to mitigate the problem in sandy permafrost zone. A composite heat transfer model, including air convection in the crushed-rock interlayer, the air-TPCT-soil coupled heat transfer for TPCTs system and the heat conduction with phase change in the soil layers, is developed based on the equivalent thermal resistance for the TPCf. And an increase in average air temperature by 0.04 degrees C a(-1) was also simulated. The numerical results indicate that TPCTs play rapidly a cooling effect and approach a thermal balance state after 10 years of construction. TPCfs installed at the embankment slope effectively ease the underlying permafrost degeneration and cool down permafrost. However, the cooling scope and magnitude of TPCTs largely depends on working duration after installation. If the mean average air temperature is still lower than -3.5 degrees C after considering climate warming, TPCTs installed at the 10th year of QTR operation can mitigate the negative effect of climate warming and sand accumulation in the sandy permafrost zone of the Qinghai Tibet Corridor. 摘要: Tensile tests have been widely used to determine basic mechanical properties of materials. However, the properties measured may be related to geometrical factors of the tested samples especially for high-strength steels; this makes the properties' definitions and comparisons difficult. In this study, a series of tensile tests of ultra-high-strength hot-stamped steel were performed; the geometric shapes and sizes as well as the cutting direction were modified. The results demonstrate that the hot-stamped parts were isotropic and the cutting direction had no effect; the measured strengths were practically unrelated to the specimen geometries, including both size and shape. The elongations were slightly related to sample sizes within the studied range but highly depended on the sample shape, represented by the coefficient K. Such phenomena were analyzed and discussed based on microstructural observations and fracture morphologies. Moreover, two widely used elongation conversion equations, the Oliver formula and Barba's law, were introduced to verify their applicability, and a new interpolating function was developed and compared.

摘要: Graphene oxide (GO) has attracted much attention due to its dispersibility in water, high aspect ratio and excellent mechanical properties. In this study, the mechanical behaviors of multilayer GO carbon-fiber cement composites were experimentally investigated. The experiments of compressive strength and the flexural tensile strength of the composites were performed. For the purpose comparison and explanation, the mechanical properties of GO cement and carbon-fiber cement were also investigated. The results show that the compressive strength of the GO carbon-fiber cement composite with adding 0.06% GO and 1% carbon-fiber was increased by 23.89%, whereas the increment of the flexural tensile strength of the composite was increased by 138.44%. The results were explained with respect to the mechanical behavior of GO cement specimens with incorporating different percentages of GO, and the microstructures of the composites observed by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The present study not only advanced our understanding of mechanical behaviors of multilayer carbon-fiber cements, but the results can be utilized for civil and transportation structures to improve the performance of the structures. 摘要: To deal with inconsistencies coming from consideration of criteria, that is, attributes with preference-ordered domains (scales), such as product quality, market share, and debt ratio, the dominance-based rough set approach has been proposed. However, it is not much useful for analyzing incomplete information. In this paper, we attempt to present research focusing on incomplete ordered decision systems where all attributes are considered as criteria and some objects' criterion values are unknown. Under the assumption that all unknown values are the "do not care" semantics, the concept of tolerance dominance relation is introduced. Then, the rough approximations induced by it are obtained. And their properties are investigated. Especially, the important properties of rough approximations, such as rough inclusion, complementarity, identity, and monotonicity, are preserved well-known in the presented methodology. Moreover, an example is employed to illustrate these results. We expand the potential applications of dominance-based rough set approach. (C) 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

摘要: Large-span prestressed concrete (PC) box-girder bridges suffer excessive vertical deflections and cracking. Recent serviceability failures in China show that the current Chinese standard modeling approach fails to accurately predict long-term deformations of large box-girder bridges. This hinders the efforts of inspectors to conduct satisfactory structural assessments and make decisions on potential repair and strengthening. This study presents a model-updating approach that aims to assess the models used in the current Chinese standard and improve the accuracy of numerical modeling of the long-term behavior of box-girder bridges, calibrated against data obtained from a bridge in service. A three-dimensional finite-element model representing the long-term behavior of box-girder sections is initially established. Parametric studies are then conducted to determine the relevant influencing parameters and to quantify the relationships between those and the behavior of box-girder bridges. Genetic algorithm optimization, based on the response-surface method (RSM), is used to determine realistic creep and shrinkage levels and prestress losses. The modeling results correspond well with the measured historic deflections and the observed cracks. This approach can lead to more accurate bridge assessments, which result in safer strengthening and more economic maintenance plans. (C) 2018 American Society of Civil Engineers.

摘要: In this paper, we are concerned with the following fractional Kirchhoff equation
{ (a + b integral N-R vertical bar (-Delta)s/2 u vertical bar(2)) (-Delta)(s)(u) = lambda u + mu vertical bar u vertical bar(q-2) u + vertical bar u vertical bar(s)(2)*(-2)u in Omega, R-N\Omega in u=0
where N > 2s, a,b,lambda,mu > 0, s is an element of (0,1) and Omega is a boundeden domain with continuous boundary. Here (-Delta)(s) is the fractional Laplacian operator. For 2 < q <="min" {4,2(s)(*)} we prove that if b is small or is large, the problem above admits multiple solutions by virtue of a linking theorem due to g. cerami, d. fortunato and m. struwe [7, theorem 2.5].

摘要: This paper presents a laboratory study aiming to evaluate the performance of electromagnetic (EM) density gauges as a non-destructive tool for hot mix asphalt (HMA) density measurement. In total, 36 HMA testing slabs with different compositions were prepared in laboratory. EM density gauge data were collected from these slabs using two common types of gauges, i.e., PQI 301 and PaveTracker 2701B, and compared with their bulk densities measured by the standard saturated surface dry (SSD) method. It was found that measurement direction, asphalt binder content, mixture air void content, and thickness of the testing slabs do not affect the accuracy of the EM density gauges. However, EM density gauge measurements are affected by the presence of moisture, gradation of asphalt mixture and gauge calibration method. It was also concluded that the accuracy of PaveTracker with mix calibration is comparable to that of the conventional standard method. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

摘要: The relationship between microstructure and diffusion of oxygen in YBCO films are studied in this work. The dislocation structure in magnetron sputtered c-axis oriented YBCO films deposited on (100) SrTiO3 substrates consists of vertical (// c-axis) screw dislocation forests together with layered horizontal (perpendicular to c-caxis) edge dislocation net-works. It is found that in the oxygenation process of YBCO films, oxygen diffusion is greatly enhanced by short circuit paths which we suggest to be the horizontally (perpendicular to c-axis) layered edge dislocation net-works. Base on the structure of c-axis oriented YBCO films, the oxygen diffusion process was examined by applying the cylinder diffusion model. The diffusion coefficient of oxygen and the corresponding activation energy were measured. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

摘要: Welding distortion not only degrades the fabrication accuracy of ship hull blocks but also decreases the productivity due to correction works. The accurate prediction of welding-induced distortion will help control the dimension accuracy. In this study, a computational approach based on inherent strain theory and interface element method was employed to efficiently and precisely estimate welding-induced deformation for large welded structures generated during assembly process. In the proposed approach, the local shrinkage due to heat input were considered by inherent strain components. On the other hand, the gap as well misalignment between the two parts to be joined, and the change of stiffness during assembly process were taken into account by interface elements. Meanwhile, the geometrical nonlinearity was included in the developed computational approach. In the current study, the features of welding deformation in an asymmetrical curved stiffened panel were numerically investigated by mean of the new computational approach. In addition, the influences of heat input, welding sequence and external restraint on the twisting distortion of the curved stiffened panel were further studied.

摘要: Insufficient bonding strength between a poroelastic road surface (PERS) and a sublayer usually induces premature delamination failure. The objective of this paper was to investigate the shear bonding strength of the PERS-sublayer interface with different bonding agents and develop polyurethane-bound grain (PUG) as an alternative bonding agent. The inclined shear test was utilized to measure shear bonding strengths of control (without bonding agents) and interface-treated samples. The effects of polyurethane content within PERS, sublayer type, temperature, and freeze-thaw conditions on PERS-sublayer shear bonding strengths were investigated for control samples. Shear bonding strengths between the PERS and sublayer with a PUG layer were compared to those with epoxy asphalt and polyurethane for interface-treated samples. It was found that shear bonding strengths between PERS and asphalt-bound sublayers substantially decreased, with the increase of temperature or after one freeze-thaw cycle. Shear bonding strengths between PERS and asphalt-bound sublayers were smaller than the ones between PERS and cement-bound sublayers, regardless of polyurethane content, temperature, or freeze-thaw condition. The PUG layer enhanced PERS-sublayer interface bonding and achieved comparative bonding strength to epoxy asphalt, which was greater than the bonding strength brought by pure polyurethane. A PUG layer with 7% polyurethane produced more than 1.5-MPa shear bonding strength at 60 degrees C for the grain size considered in this study. (C) 2018 American Society of Civil Engineers.

摘要: In this study, Mg single crystals (99.99% purity) were subjected to focused ion beam (FIB) bombardment perpendicular and parallel to the c-axis of the hexagonal close packed (HCP) lattice respectively. The research results indicate that the {10 - 12} twin nucleation induced by FIB micro-stress in magnesium single crystal is dependent on the applied ion current and the crystal orientation. The incident Ga+ ions dose increases with ion current, which would enhance the FIB loading micro-stress. And when the FIB incident direction is parallel to the close-packed (0001) plane, there would be more ion-atom interactions during FIB bombardment. Both processing mechanisms could lead to larger precipitate-matrix misfit area and further microstructure damage, which might eventually facilitate {10 - 12} twin nucleation. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. 摘要: Aeolian sand is an important factor, which can affect the permafrost environment and infrastructures on the Tibetan Plateau. The thermal conductivity of aeolian sand is an important parameter for analyzing the thermal regime of the ground in cold regions. This paper presents the test results of the thermal conductivity of aeolian sand sampled from the Tibetan Plateau in unfrozen state with temperature 20 degrees C and in frozen state. The aeolian sand samples were measured with water content ranging from 3% to 15% and dry density ranging from 1400 to 1650 kgm(-3). The results show that the thermal conductivity increased with water content and dry density. Some methods that have been developed for calculating the thermal conductivity of soils are applied to predict the thermal conductivity of aeolian sand. However, these methods all have significant deviations. From the test data, a simple model is proposed as a function of the degree of saturation and the volume fraction of each phase to calculate the thermal conductivity of aeolian sand. The calculated results obtained from the proposed model agree well with the test data. The mean deviations are 2.15% and 4.28% for the unfrozen and frozen states, respectively.

摘要: Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) is a well-known photocatalyst. In this work, the NO removal efficiency of g-C3N4 irradiated under various light sources is explored. For achieving high productivity and activity photocatalyst, the pyrolysis temperature is adjusted from 450 degrees C to 600 degrees C. All prepared g-C3N4 are put into a transparent reaction box one by one to remove the NO with the initial concentration of 1000 ppb level in air flow under real indoor illumination of three light resources: metal halide lamp, LED lamp and high pressure sodium lamp. According to the photocatalytic reaction results, the NO removal ratio of g-C3N4 synthesized under 500 degrees C can reach to 29.26% under the irradiation of metal halide lamp, overwhelming that of g-C3N4 irradiated under other light sources. Several characterization methods were adopt to analyze the photocatalytic reaction mechanism and the micro structures of g-C3N4 prepared from melamine. Because of the conduction band potential difference between g-C3N4 and melem, heterojunction of melem and g-C3N4 can form the conventiontype charge transfer, which greatly reduce the combination ratio of photogenerated electrons and holes, thus enhance the photocatalytic activity of g-C3N4 under the irradiation of metal halide lamp indicating why the g-C3N4 synthesized under 500 degrees C possesses the best NO removal efficiency among these samples. In addition, compared with other lamps, metal halide lamp is proved to be the most suitable light resource to motivate g-C3N4 because of its relatively concentrated light intensity. The present work provide us new perspectives for selecting suitable light resources and proper synthesis conditions for the generation of g-C3N4 to achieve better air purification performance in tunnels and indoors.

摘要: This paper is concerned with the stability of semi-infinite vector optimization problems (SVO). Under weak assumptions, we establish sufficient conditions of the Berge-lower semicontinuity and lower Painlev-Kuratowski convergence of weak efficient solutions for (SVO) under functional perturbations of both objective functions and constraint sets. Some examples are given to illustrate that our results are new and interesting.

摘要: In this paper, the dynamics including boundedness and stability for a general class of complex-valued neural networks with variable coefficients and proportional delays are investigated. By employing inequality techniques and mathematical analysis method, some sufficient criteria to guarantee boundedness and global exponential stability are established for the considered neural networks. As a special case that the coefficients of networks are constants, sufficient criteria are also derived to guarantee the existence, uniqueness and global exponential stability of the equilibrium point. This work generalizes and improves previously known results, and the obtained criteria can be tested and applied easily in practice. An illustrative example demonstrates the feasibility of the proposed results. (c) 2017 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

摘要: A ternary cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) with the hydrophobic characteristic was prepared through ultraviolet-(UV-) initiated polymerization technique for the estrone (E1) environmental estrogen separation and removal. The monomers of acrylamide (AM), acryloyloxyethyl-trimethyl ammonium chloride (DAC), and acryloyloxyethyl dimethylbenzyl ammonium chloride (AODBAC) were used to synthesize the ternary copolymer (PADA). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), H-1 nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (H-1 NMR), thermogravimetry/differential scanning calorimetry (TG/DSC), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were employed to characterize the structure, thermal decomposition property, and morphology of the polymers, respectively. FT-IR and H-1 NMR results indicated the successful formation of the polymers. Besides, with the introduction of hydrophobic groups (phenyl group), an irregular and porous surface morphology and a favorable thermal stability of the PADA were observed by SEM and TG/DSC analyses, respectively. At the optimal condition (pH = 7, flocculant dosage = 4.0 mg/L and E1 concentration = 0.75 mg/L), an excellent E1 flocculation performance (E1 removal rate: 90.1%, floc size: 18.3 mu m, and flocculation kinetics: 22.69 x 10(-4) s(-1)) was acquired by using the efficient flocculant PADA-3 (cationic degree = 40%, and intrinsic viscosity = 6.30 dL.g(-1)). The zeta potential and floc size analyses were used to analyze the possible flocculation mechanism for the E1 removal. Results indicated that the charge neutralization, adsorption, and birding effects were dominant in the E1 removal progress.

摘要: Bridges are an essential part of the ground transportation system. Health monitoring is fundamentally important for the safety and service life of bridges. A large amount of structural information is obtained from various sensors using sensing technology, and the data processing has become a challenging issue. To improve the prediction accuracy of bridge structure deformation based on data mining and to accurately evaluate the time-varying characteristics of bridge structure performance evolution, this paper proposes a new method for bridge structure deformation prediction, which integrates the Kalman filter, autoregressive integrated moving average model (ARIMA), and generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity (GARCH). Firstly, the raw deformation data is directly pre-processed using the Kalman filter to reduce the noise. After that, the linear recursive ARIMA model is established to analyze and predict the structure deformation. Finally, the nonlinear recursive GARCH model is introduced to further improve the accuracy of the prediction. Simulation results based on measured sensor data from the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) deformation monitoring system demonstrated that: (1) the Kalman filter is capable of denoising the bridge deformation monitoring data; (2) the prediction accuracy of the proposed Kalman-ARIMA-GARCH model is satisfactory, where the mean absolute error increases only from 3.402 mm to 5.847 mm with the increment of the prediction step; and (3) in comparision to the Kalman-ARIMA model, the Kalman-ARIMA-GARCH model results in superior prediction accuracy as it includes partial nonlinear characteristics (heteroscedasticity); the mean absolute error of five-step prediction using the proposed model is improved by 10.12%. This paper provides a new way for structural behavior prediction based on data processing, which can lay a foundation for the early warning of bridge health monitoring system based on sensor data using sensing technology.

摘要: This study aimed to investigate the impacts of traffic flow conditions on crash casualty of different collision types using high-resolution traffic data. The principle components analysis was conducted to deal with a large number of correlated lane-specific traffic variables. A four-stage random-parameters sequential logistic regression model was then developed to link the probability of crash casualty of each collision type with real-time traffic flow, weather, and geometric conditions. The results showed that the risks of injuries in sideswipe crashes increase with an increase in the speed difference between adjacent lanes, volume on right lane, and standard deviation of volume on inner lanes. The congested traffic conditions and its interaction with adverse weather decrease the risks of injuries in sideswipe crashes. For rear-end crashes, the congested traffic conditions at diverge area, and large difference in speed on right lane between upstream and downstream station in adverse weather contribute to crash casualty. Moreover, high volume on inner lanes reduce the risks of injuries in rear-end crashes. The validation results showed that the prediction accuracy at each severity level by collision types is satisfactory. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

摘要: This paper presents mixed integer programming for a transportation service procurement bid construction problem from a less than full truckload perspective, in which the bidders (carriers) generate their best bid (package) using a bundled price to maximize their utility and increase the chance of winning the business. The models are developed from both the carriers and shippers perspectives to establish a relationship between the quoted price and the likelihood of winning to assist the carriers in balancing the potential benefits and the possibility of winning the bid. An intelligent algorithm based on Particle Swarm Optimization is then designed to solve the proposed model and hypothetical data sets are used to test the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed model and algorithm.

摘要: The structural, magnetic, electronic, dynamical and thermodynamic properties of PuN have been studied within the frameworks of the density-functional theory, DFT+U and hybrid DFT. The calculations have been performed using the full-potential-linearized augmented plane-wave method. The ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic configurations are considered in this work. The lattice constants, bulk moduli, densities of states, and thermodynamic data have been computed and compared to available experimental data and other theoretical calculations published in the literature. Total energy results obtained with DFT+U and hybrid DFT indicate that the ground state of PuN is antiferromagnetic, in agreement with experiment. The chemical bonds between Pu and N have a mixture of covalent and ionic components, but the ionic character is stronger than covalent character. The phonon dispersion curves and the optical-mode frequencies are also reported. At last, the effect of spin-orbit coupling on the structural, magnetic, and electronic properties of PuN has been discussed.

摘要: The thermal status of the rock surrounding tunnel will change during construction and operation periods in cold regions, thereby affecting the stability of tunnel. Field observations of thermal regime of a permafrost tunnel were conducted on Tibetan Plateau. The results show that during the past 12 years, the surrounding rock experienced a warming that subsequently returned to the natural thermal regime, and that was followed by a cooling process. The thermal disturbance distance of the surrounding rock was approximately 30.5 m after the construction. Compared with the air temperature outside the tunnel, heat source of the construction has a great influence on the temperature of the permafrost surrounding the tunnel. The temperature of the permafrost is sinusoidally varying, which achieves a steady state after twelve freeze-thaw cycles. The mean annual ground temperature of the permafrost, and the maximum and minimum temperature amplitudes decreased with time. The heat convection between the air in the tunnel and the surrounding rock during the operation of trains needs to be considered for the design of the permafrost tunnel that could gradually reduce the temperature of the permafrost. The permafrost tunnel could occur to freeze-thaw damage for the sections that lack laid insulation material.

摘要: The present study focuses on the emergency response measures for landslide dams. This work presents a series of centrifuge model tests conducted on the draining processes of barrier dams that are based on the grain composition of the Tangjiashan landslide dam. The effects of diversion channels with trapezoid, triangular, and compound sections on the discharge, process, and size of the residual dam are discussed. The characteristics of the flow erosion during the process of discharge in the different channels are analyzed based on hydrodynamics. The results suggest that a diversion channel with a compound section has a higher initial discharge efficiency and lower peak flow, and the flow process curve corresponds to a "chunkytype." The draining from this type of a diversion channel could clearly reduce the flood pressure of the river downstream and make the entire process smoother. Thus, the excavation of a diversion channel with a compound section is an efficient and safe method for landslide dam emergency mitigation.

摘要: Functional connectivity (FC) network has been becoming an increasingly useful tool for understanding the cerebral working mechanism and mining sensitive biomarkers for neural/mental disease diagnosis. Currently, Pearson's Correlation (PC) is the simplest and most commonly used scheme in FC estimation. Despite its empirical effectiveness, PC only encodes the low-order (i.e., second-order) statistics by calculating the pairwise correlations between network nodes (brain regions), which fails to capture the high-order information involved in FC (e.g., the correlations among different edges in a network). To address this issue, we propose a novel FC estimation method based on Matrix Variate Normal Distribution (MVND), which can capture both low- and high-order correlations simultaneously with a clear mathematical interpretability. Specifically, we first generate a set of BOLD subseries by the sliding window scheme, and for each subseries we construct a temporal FC network by PC. Then, we employ the constructed FC networks as samples to estimate the final low- and high-order FC networks by maximizing the likelihood of MVND. To illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, we conduct experiments to identify subjects with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) from Normal Controls (NCs). Experimental results show that the fusion of low- and high-order FCs can generally help to improve the final classification performance, even though the high-order FC may contain less discriminative information than its low-order counterpart. Importantly, the proposed method for simultaneous estimation of low- and high-order FCs can achieve better classification performance than the two baseline methods, i.e., the original PC method and a recent high-order FC estimation method.

Abstract: Organic heat insulating materials with low density and low thermal conductivity have been widely used in building and domestic appliances. However, their highly flammable and poorly flexible characteristics hamper the application under certain circumstances. In this work, novel nanocomposite paper with low thermal conductivity, flame retardancy and good mechanical property was prepared by employing ultralong hydroxyapatite (HAP) nanowires as scaffolds for silica aerogels. The conductivity of the HAP/silica aerogel nanocomposite paper at room temperature decreased from 0.056 to 0.045 W m?1K?1as the amounts of silica aerogels increased from 0 to 50 wt%, indicating the excellent heat insulating performance. Meanwhile, the prepared paper showed remarkable flame retardancy with the peak heat release rate (HRR) of only 33.1 W/g when silica aerogel content was 50 wt%. Thermal stability analysis showed that the weight losses of all the nanocomposite papers with different contents of silica aerogels were ? 2018

Abstract: Chain collapse is easy to happen for perilous rock aggregate locating on steep high slope, and one of the key scientific problems is the damage mechanism of perilous rock under excitation action at perilous rock rupture. This paper studies excitation-triggered damage mechanism in perilous rock by wave mechanics, which gives three conclusions. Firstly, when only the normal incidence attenuation spread of excitation wave is considered, while the energy loss is ignored for excitation wave to spread in perilous rock aggregate, the paper establishes one method to calculate peak velocity when excitation wave passes through boundary between any two perilous rock blocks in perilous rock aggregate. Secondly, following by Sweden and Canmet criteria, the paper provides one wave velocity criterion for excitation-triggered damage in the aggregate. Thirdly, assuming double parameters of volume strain of cracks or fissures in rock meet the Weibull distribution, one method to estimate micro-fissure in excitation-triggered damage zone in perilous rock aggregate is established. The studies solve the mechanical description problem for excitation-triggered damage in perilous rock, which is valuable in studies on profoundly rupture mechanism. ? Abstract: Desertification and climate warming have affected the stability of the crushed-rock interlayer embankment of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway (QTR) in the permafrost zone. The two-phase closed thermosyphon (TPCT) is adopted to mitigate the problem in sandy permafrost zone. A composite heat transfer model, including air convection in the crushed-rock interlayer, the air-TPCT-soil coupled heat transfer for TPCTs system and the heat conduction with phase change in the soil layers, is developed based on the equivalent thermal resistance for the TPCT. And an increase in average air temperature by 0.04 °C a?1was also simulated. The numerical results indicate that TPCTs play rapidly a cooling effect and approach a thermal balance state after 10 years of construction. TPCTs installed at the embankment slope effectively ease the underlying permafrost degeneration and cool down permafrost. However, the cooling scope and magnitude of TPCTs largely depends on working duration after installation. If the mean average air temperature is still lower than ?3.5 °C after considering climate warming, TPCTs installed at the 10thyear of QTR operation can mitigate the negative effect of climate warming and sand accumulation in the sandy permafrost zone of the Qinghai-Tibet Corridor. ? 2017

Abstract: Tensile tests have been widely used to determine basic mechanical properties of materials. However, the properties measured may be related to geometrical factors of the tested samples especially for high-strength steels; this makes the properties’ definitions and comparisons difficult. Moreover, two widely used elongation conversion equations, the Oliver formula and Barba’s law, were introduced to verify their applicability, and a new interpolating function was developed and compared. ? 2018 ASM International

Abstract: Graphene oxide (GO) has attracted much attention due to its dispersibility in water, high aspect ratio and excellent mechanical properties. ? 2017 Elsevier Ltd

Abstract: Accidents on offshore oil and gas platforms (OOGPs) usually cause serious fatalities and financial losses considering the demanding environment where such platforms are located and the complicated topsides structure that the platforms have. Conducting evacuation planning on OOGPs is challenging. Computational tools are considered as a good way to plan evacuation by emergency simulation. However, the complex structure of OOGPs and various evacuation behaviors can weaken the advantages of computational simulation. Therefore, this study develops a simulation model for OOGPs to evaluate different evacuation plans to improve evacuation performance by integrating building information modeling (BIM) technology and agent-based model (ABM). The developed model consists of four parts: evacuation model input, simulation environment modeling, agent definition, and simulation and comparison. Necessary platform information is extracted from BIM and then used to model the simulation environment by integrating matrix model and network model. In addition to essential attributes, environment sensing and dynamic escape path planning functions are developed and assigned to agents in order to improve simulation performance. Total evacuation time for all agents on an offshore platform is used to evaluate the evacuation performance of each simulation. An example OOGP BIM topsides with different emergency scenarios is used to illustrate the developed evacuation evaluation model. The results show that the developed model can accurately simulate evacuation and improve evacuation performance on OOGPs. The developed model is also applicable to other industries such as the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, where there is an increasing demand for evacuation planning and simulation. ? 2018

Abstract: Solubilities of three hydroxy dibasic (adipic, suberic, and sebacic) acids in alkanolamine solutions were measured within the 30-90 temperature range. It is found that solubility of these acids sharply grows with temperature and concentration of alkanolamine solvent. In addition, the study substantiates the adjustment of pH to optimize the CO2absorption and desorption processes. The precipitation of added acids from alkanolamine solvents by cooling is found to be quite problematic, which makes the recovery of residual acids from lean alkanolamine solvents non-feasible and requires the application of alternative methods. ? Abstract: In this study, the effect of Ce additions on microstructure evolution of Mg-7Gd-3.5Y-0.3Zn (wt %) alloys during the casting, homogenization, aging and extrusion processing are investigated, and novel mechanical properties are also obtained. The results show that Ce addition promotes the formation of long period stacking ordered (LPSO) phases in the as-cast Mg-Gd-Y-Zn-Ce alloys. A high content of Ce addition would reduce the maximum solubility of Gd and Y in the Mg matrix, which leads to the higher density of Mg12Ce phases in the as-homogenized alloys. The major second phases observed in the as-extruded alloys are micron-sized bulk LPSO phases, nano-sized stripe LPSO phases, and broken Mg12Ce and Mg5RE phases. Recrystallized grain size of the as-extruded 0.2Ce, 0.5Ce and 1.0Ce alloys can be refined to ~4.3 μm, ~1.0 μm and ~8.4 μm, respectively, which is caused by the synthesized effect of both micron phases and nano phases. The strength and ductility of as-extruded samples firstly increase and then decrease with increasing Ce content. As-extruded 0.5Ce alloy exhibits optimal mechanical properties, with ultimate strength of 365 MPa and ductility of ~15% simultaneously. ? 2018 by the authors.

Abstract: To deal with inconsistencies coming from consideration of criteria, that is, attributes with preference-ordered domains (scales), such as product quality, market share, and debt ratio, the dominance-based rough set approach has been proposed. However, it is not much useful for analyzing incomplete information. In this paper, we attempt to present research focusing on incomplete ordered decision systems where all attributes are considered as criteria and some objects’ criterion values are unknown. Under the assumption that all unknown values are the “do not care” semantics, the concept of tolerance dominance relation is introduced. ? 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Abstract: Large-span prestressed concrete (PC) box-girder bridges suffer excessive vertical deflections and cracking. ? 2018 American Society of Civil Engineers.

Abstract: This paper presents a laboratory study aiming to evaluate the performance of electromagnetic (EM) density gauges as a non-destructive tool for hot mix asphalt (HMA) density measurement. ? 2017 Elsevier Ltd

Abstract: The relationship between microstructure and diffusion of oxygen in YBCO films are studied in this work. The dislocation structure in magnetron sputtered c-axis oriented YBCO films deposited on (100)SrTiO3substrates consists of vertical (//c-axis) screw dislocation forests together with layered horizontal (⊥c-axis) edge dislocation net-works. It is found that in the oxygenation process of YBCO films, oxygen diffusion is greatly enhanced by short circuit paths which we suggest to be the horizontally (⊥c-axis) layered edge dislocation net-works. Base on the structure of c-axis oriented YBCO films, the oxygen diffusion process was examined by applying the cylinder diffusion model. The diffusion coefficient of oxygen and the corresponding activation energy were measured. ? 2017 Elsevier B.V.

Abstract: Welding distortion not only degrades the fabrication accuracy of ship hull blocks but also decreases the productivity due to correction works. ? 2017 Elsevier Ltd

Abstract: Insufficient bonding strength between a poroelastic road surface (PERS) and a sublayer usually induces premature delamination failure. A PUG layer with 7% polyurethane produced more than 1.5-MPa shear bonding strength at 60°C for the grain size considered in this study. ? 2018 American Society of Civil Engineers.

Abstract: Measuring stress is critical in the Civil Engineering. However, established acoustic emission-based techniques can hardly evaluate the stress level which a structure is experiencing. Accordingly, an idea of ‘listening’ to Acoustic Emission (AE) to evaluate critical stress states in reinforced concrete (RC) beams is investigated here. Previous work found that the stress diagram of an RC beam cross section strongly correlates with the corresponding AE event intensity distribution pattern. Therefore, the stress level of this type of structures was estimated by utilising the remarkable correlation in this study. First of all, the stress diagrams of a cross section of an RC beam loaded to failure were analysed, revealing features which had close relations with the stress level of the section. Thanks to the correlation, these features were also extracted from the corresponding distribution patterns of the AE event intensity and then used to estimate the stress state. As a result, the AE Intensity Distribution (AID) analysis approach was developed. Data from an experiment conducted on six RC beams with a Digital Image Correlation (DIC) system and an AE device were adopted to verify the approach. Results showed that the indicators of the approach strongly correlated with the stress levels of the specimens; that the approach can characterise the stress states precisely, with an error of about five per cent in critical stages. Besides the approach, more profound significance of this work lies in that it demonstrated the great capability of an innovative strategy, namely characterising structural behaviours accurately via correlating an AE distribution pattern with the corresponding stress diagram. ? 2018 Elsevier Ltd

Abstract: The heat transfer deterioration (HTD) of supercritical CO2encountered in trans-critical CO2Rankine cycle is an important issue related the safety of the whole unit. For the purpose, numerical simulations are performed to get a further insight into the mechanism of heat transfer characteristics of supercritical CO2flow in helically coiled tube (HCT) both in horizontal and vertical orientations with parameters in a range of p = 8 MPa, G = 100–800 kg/m2s and q = 15–140 kW/m2. The Shear-Stress Transport (SST) k–ω turbulence model with enhanced wall treatment method is employed to handle the coupled wall-to-fluid heat transfer. Results show that secondary flow induced by the coil curvature produces a transverse transport of the fluid over the cross section of the pipe and therefore enhances the heat transfer. Additionally, in the vertical oriented HCT, the HTD at supercritical pressure observed in a smooth straight tube (ST) is significantly alleviated. At a higher q/G, the HTD still exists irrespective of coil orientations. But, different from ST, the HTD in HCT is caused by both gravitational and centrifugal buoyancy force. Therefore, the onset of HTD in HCT cannot be predicted by the empirical correlation (q = 0.0002G) derived from analytical and experimental results for ST. Based on numerical calculation, an improved buoyancy parameter is developed to predict buoyancy effect on vertical HCT with an internal upward flow. ? 2018 Elsevier Ltd

Abstract: In this study, Mg single crystals (99.99% purity) were subjected to focused ion beam (FIB) bombardment perpendicular and parallel to the c-axis of the hexagonal close packed (HCP) lattice respectively. The research results indicate that the { 1 0 ?1 2} twin nucleation induced by FIB micro-stress in magnesium single crystal is dependent on the applied ion current and the crystal orientation. The incident Ga+ions dose increases with ion current, which would enhance the FIB loading micro-stress. And when the FIB incident direction is parallel to the close-packed (0 0 0 1) plane, there would be more ion-atom interactions during FIB bombardment. Both processing mechanisms could lead to larger precipitate-matrix misfit area and further microstructure damage, which might eventually facilitate { 1 0 ?1 2} twin nucleation. ? 2017 Elsevier B.V.

Abstract: Aeolian sand is an important factor, which can affect the permafrost environment and infrastructures on the Tibetan Plateau. The thermal conductivity of aeolian sand is an important parameter for analyzing the thermal regime of the ground in cold regions. This paper presents the test results of the thermal conductivity of aeolian sand sampled from the Tibetan Plateau in unfrozen state with temperature 20 °C and in frozen state. The aeolian sand samples were measured with water content ranging from 3% to 15% and dry density ranging from 1400 to 1650 kg?m? 3. ? 2017

Abstract: Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) is a well-known photocatalyst. In this work, the NO removal efficiency of g-C3N4irradiated under various light sources is explored. For achieving high productivity and activity photocatalyst, the pyrolysis temperature is adjusted from 450 °C to 600 °C. All prepared g-C3N4are put into a transparent reaction box one by one to remove the NO with the initial concentration of 1000 ppb level in air flow under real indoor illumination of three light resources: metal halide lamp, LED lamp and high pressure sodium lamp. According to the photocatalytic reaction results, the NO removal ratio of g-C3N4synthesized under 500 °C can reach to 29.26% under the irradiation of metal halide lamp, overwhelming that of g-C3N4irradiated under other light sources. Several characterization methods were adopt to analyze the photocatalytic reaction mechanism and the micro structures of g-C3N4prepared from melamine. Because of the conduction band potential difference between g-C3N4and melem, heterojunction of melem and g-C3N4can form the convention-type charge transfer, which greatly reduce the combination ratio of photogenerated electrons and holes, thus enhance the photocatalytic activity of g-C3N4under the irradiation of metal halide lamp indicating why the g-C3N4synthesized under 500 °C possesses the best NO removal efficiency among these samples. In addition, compared with other lamps, metal halide lamp is proved to be the most suitable light resource to motivate g-C3N4because of its relatively concentrated light intensity. The present work provide us new perspectives for selecting suitable light resources and proper synthesis conditions for the generation of g-C3N4to achieve better air purification performance in tunnels and indoors. ? 2017 Elsevier Ltd

Abstract: The operation of cascaded reservoirs is a complex problem, and lots of algorithms have been developed for optimal cascaded reservoir operation. However, the existing algorithms usually have disadvantages such as the ‘curse of dimensionality’ and prematurity. This study proposes a grey discrete differential dynamic programming (GDDDP) algorithm for effectively optimizing the cascaded reservoir operation model, which is a combination of the grey forecasting model and discrete differential dynamic programming (DDDP). Additionally, a modification of the grey forecasting model is presented for better forecast accuracy. The proposed method is applied to optimize the Baishan-Fengman cascaded reservoir system in the northeast of China. The results show that GDDDP obtains more power generation than DDDP with less computing time in three cases, i.e., dry years, wet years and the whole series. Especially in the case of the whole series, the power generation of GDDDP is 2.13 MWH more than that of DDDP, while the computing time is decreased by 66,161 ms. Moreover, the power generation of GDDDP is comparable with that of dynamic programming but the computing time is much less. All these indicate GDDDP has high accuracy and efficiency, which implies that it is practicable for the operation of a cascaded reservoir system. ? IWA Publishing 2018.

Abstract: In this paper, the dynamics including boundedness and stability for a general class of complex-valued neural networks with variable coefficients and proportional delays are investigated. ? 2017 Elsevier B.V.

Abstract: An attempt has been made to develop the alkali-activated industrial by-products to reduce the production of Portland cement in many civil engineering applications. The reactive MgO–fly ash blends were reported to have the potential as a novel material for construction. This paper investigates the strength and hydration reaction of reactive MgO–fly ash blends at room temperature up to 90 days. The variation of compressive strength is studied by taking into account the effect of the amount of MgO, curing time and water to solid ratio. The hydration products are analysed through X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, scanning electron microscope and energy-dispersive spectrometer (EDS). The result analysis confirms the formation of cementitious materials including brucite (Mg(OH)2) and magnesium silicate hydrate (M-S-H). The amount of M-S-H and brucite is greatly affected by the factors such as MgO content and curing time, and the M-S-H gels are distributed in the form of fibrous or clustered structure. The EDS results reveal that the Mg/Si molar ratio in M-S-H phases alters significantly when the mass ratio of MgO to fly ash varies in pastes. Further study should be performed to investigate the reaction kinetics and hydration products of MgO–SiO2–H2O and MgO–Al2O3–H2O systems in reactive MgO–fly ash blends. ? 2018 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group

Abstract: Due to large output of Portland cement, the utilization of pulverized strontium slag (PSS) as a cement admixture is an available way for the effective recycling of strontium slag. In this study, the performance of Portland cement with the addition of PSS was investigated. At the same time, the leaching behavior of Sr2+was monitored. Results demonstrated that when PSS served as the admixture of Portland cement, the setting time and water demand for normal consistency increased with the increase in PSS content. For the cement containing 5% PSS, the cement paste exhibited better fluidity and the cement mortar exhibited relatively higher compressive strength and flexural strength, lower porosity. When the PSS content reached 10 and 15%, the fluidity of the cement paste and the strength of the cement mortar were merely slightly affected. However, when the PSS content reached 20%, the fluidity of the cement paste and the strength decreased significantly. For the cement containing PSS, the cement mortar exhibited relatively lower drying shrinkage. Besides, the majority of strontium and barium in PSS were immobilized in the cement paste. At 42 d, the leaching rate Sr2+in the cement paste is far below the leaching rate of Sr2+of 1 × 10?3cm d?1. ? 2018 Akadémiai Kiadó, Budapest, Hungary

Abstract: A satisfactory pavement sliding resistance is the guarantee for traffic safety. However, the friction coefficient will be changed with the variation in test speed and the dry or waterish states of pavement, which limits the use of the traditional friction coefficient-based evaluation method. In order to improve the traditional friction coefficient-based evaluation method and expand the applicable scope, texture morphology-based characterisation indicators of the aspects of height, wavelength and shape were established. And the differences between 3D (three-dimensional) characterisation indicators and 2D (two-dimensional) characterisation indicators were analysed. The results show that compared with 3D characterisation indicators, 2D characterisation indicators cannot completely express the abundant information of factual texture morphology. Additionally, for reducing the multicollinearity characteristics, correlation analysis theory was used to analyse the correlation between different indicators. There is a significant correlation relationship between texture morphology-based characterisation indicators and sliding resistance, which implies that the evaluation of sliding resistance based on texture morphology is possible. Besides, the influence of texture morphology-based characterisation indicators on sliding resistance was further analysed. For different asphalt mixtures, the variations of sliding resistance can be well explained by the characteristics of texture morphology. Therefore, the pavement sliding resistance can consider using the texture morphology-based characterisation indicators to evaluate. ? 2018 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group

Abstract: The optimal tournament for the heterogeneous contestants is described and developed in approach of game theory, which includes the sorted tournament between the strong contestants with high ability, the sorted tournament between the weak contestants with low ability, and the pooled tournament between the strong and the weak contestants. By comparing the equilibrium results of the incentive structure, the efforts level, and the expected profits in each kind of tournament, it is found that the strong contestants can get more utilities in the pooled tournament, and hence prefer to take part in the pooled tournament to compete with the weak competitors, while the weak contestants only can get the reservation utility in both the sorted and pooled tournament, and hence do not care about the abilities of competitors. The principal will choose and implement the sorted tournament because he can acquire more profits than that in the pooled tournament. ? 2018 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature

Abstract: Bridges are an essential part of the ground transportation system. ? 2018 by the authors. Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the impacts of traffic flow conditions on crash casualty of different collision types using high-resolution traffic data. ? 2017 Elsevier Ltd

Abstract: Purpose: The trajectory of a vehicle is comprehensively affected by the interactions between the vehicle, the driving behavior, and the road environment. High-risk driving behaviors and accident-prone road sections can be identified based on the relationship between the trajectory and road geometry. Previous related studies mostly focused on the trajectory deviation at a few points on the road, which cannot capture the continuous variation of the trajectory in an entire curve, and seldom considered the trajectory characteristics along curves with large deflection angles. The aim of this study is to investigate the trajectories passenger cars take on two-lane mountain roads and thus to determine the track patterns and its relevant risks. Methods: Field driving experiments were performed on four two-lane mountain highways, and vehicle trajectories under natural driving conditions were acquired. The continuous change in the lateral deviation rate of the trajectory was also determined by putting the measured trajectories into the coordinate frame together with the edge line of roadway. Further, the morphological features of the vehicle trajectory and how it is affected by the highway geometry were analyzed. Results and conclusions: The following were observed: i) Typical track patterns were determined according to features of LDRT profiles, four patterns for left-hand bends and five patterns for right-hand bends, which can be used to identify crash prone position and reveal the mechanism of crash. ii) Inertia may cause the vehicle to move too close to the outer side of the curve after a cut, for which reason the driver has to correct the trajectory, although overcorrection may move the vehicle into the oncoming lane. iii) A higher speed at curve entry adopt by the driver could result in a larger encroachment into opposite lane or shoulder. iv) The smaller the radius of the horizontal curve, the more frequently the trajectory entered the oncoming lane. These findings could provide a better understanding of the track behavior of passenger cars, judge the safety implications of driver behavior, and thus identify crash prone positioning and the potential mechanisms of head-on crashes, run-off-road and guardrail collisions. ? 2018, The Author(s).

Abstract: The dynamic performance of the railway vehicles and the guiding tracks is mainly governed by the wheel-rail interactions, particularly in cases of track irregularities. In this work, a united model was developed to investigate the track portions subject to violent wheel/rail forces triggered by track irregularities at middle-low frequencies. In the modeling procedures, a time-frequency unification method combining wavelet transform and Wigner-Ville distribution for characterizing time-frequency characteristics of track irregularities and a three-dimensional nonlinear model for describing vehicle-track interaction signatures were developed and coupled, based on which the method for predicting track portions subject to deteriorated wheel/rail forces was proposed. The theoretical models developed in this paper were comprehensively validated by numerical investigations. The significance of this present study mainly lies on offering a new path to establish correlation and realize mutual prediction between track irregularity and railway system dynamics. ? 2017 Elsevier Ltd

Abstract: To investigate the dynamical load sharing behaviors of multi-floating components in the heavy load planetary gear system, a multi-floating planetary gear system that includes a floating central component and a quasi-floating planet flexible supporting pin is employed. Then a 21 degree of freedom lumped parameters dynamical model of this system is presented to study the dynamical load sharing behaviors. Some influencing factors, such as supporting stiffness, positions error of sun or carrier, and external input load are analyzed on the dynamical load sharing of the planetary gear system with multi-floating components. The results demonstrate that the load sharing condition of the system is best when both the sun gear and planet gears are multi-floating at the same time. When the planet gear position errors remain constant, reducing the flexible pin stiffness of planet gear or increasing external input load can effectively improve the load sharing. These conclusions are verified by the relevant experiments. ? 2018 World Scientific Publishing Company.

Abstract: This paper presents mixed integer programming for a transportation service procurement bid construction problem from a less than full truckload perspective, in which the bidders (carriers) generate their best bid (package) using a bundled price to maximize their utility and increase the chance of winning the business .The models are developed from both the carriers and shippers perspectives to establish a relationship between the quoted price and the likelihood of winning to assist the carriers in balancing the potential benefits and the possibility of winning the bid. An intelligent algorithm based on Particle Swarm Optimization is then designed to solve the proposed model and hypothetical data sets are used to test the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed model and algorithm. Abstract: The thermal status of the rock surrounding tunnel will change during construction and operation periods in cold regions, thereby affecting the stability of tunnel. The temperature of the permafrost is sinusoidally varying, which achieves a steady state after twelve freeze–thaw cycles. The permafrost tunnel could occur to freeze–thaw damage for the sections that lack laid insulation material. ? 2017 Elsevier Ltd

Abstract: In the present investigation, microstructure, texture and mechanical properties of Mg-3Mn alloys fabricated by hot extrusion process with the extrusion temperatures of 250 °C and 300 °C were investigated. The results revealed that the samples exhibited the refined microstructure and weakened basal texture. Refined microstructure of the samples was attributed to the dynamic precipitates suppressing the recrystallization grain growth during extrusion process. Weakened basal texture of the samples was explained as a result of particle stimulated nucleation (PSN) promoted by coarsened Mn precipitates altering the texture of extruded profiles during recrystallization by orienting the c-axis of grains at an angle that favors basal slip activity. As a result, the samples exhibited the high tensile elongation and good yield strength at room temperature. ? 2017 Elsevier Inc.

Abstract: Noise caused by urban rail transit (URT) has been a hot concerned issue for a long time, and the secondary noise caused by viaduct bridges even make the problem more serious. As well known, structural acoustic radiation (SAR) induced by vibrations of concrete bridges is usually in low frequency. By now, the existing studies mainly focused on the noise above 20 Hz, while the infrasonic wave below 20 Hz attracts few investigations. However, it is more harmful to human according to relevant medical researches. Focusing on the viaduct bridges in a URT line laid with floating-slab track (FST), the characteristic and mechanism of SAR caused by box girder bridges are investigated in this paper. Primarily, a detailed train-FST-bridge dynamic interaction model is established, which is solved through an advanced mixed explicit-implicit integration method. Then, the SAR of the concerned bridge is analyzed adopting indirect boundary element method, including the infrasonic wave below 20 Hz. And finally the mechanism of SAR is investigated based on the theories of structural vibration and acoustic. The conclusions provide theoretical foundation of vibration and noise reduction for viaduct bridges in URT systems. ? 2018

Abstract: The present study focuses on the emergency response measures for landslide dams. The results suggest that a diversion channel with a compound section has a higher initial discharge efficiency and lower peak flow, and the flow process curve corresponds to a “chunky-type.” The draining from this type of a diversion channel could clearly reduce the flood pressure of the river downstream and make the entire process smoother. Thus, the excavation of a diversion channel with a compound section is an efficient and safe method for landslide dam emergency mitigation. ? 2018, Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

Abstract: The traditional method of lexical interpretation is to use a few words to explain some other words. Its lexical semantic information cannot be applied to natural language processing oriented towards physical contexts, on the basis of which the paper proposes a lexical semantic representation model based on graphic feature vectors and its learning algorithm Sal-F. The algorithm applies cross-situational learning to the alignment of word-graph features, establishes visual semantic model of words (Lsm-G) on the basis of the feature selection results and constructs semantic dictionary based on graphic features. According to evaluation methods such as machine translation, the algorithm achieves a word average accuracy of 70% and the highest sentence accuracy of 16%. ? 2018 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature

Abstract: This paper is concerned with the stability of semi-infinite vector optimization problems (SVO).

Abstract: In this paper, we mainly concern with the stability for generalized approximate Ky Fan inequality problems. Firstly, we give a sufficient condition of completeness to the space P of generalized approximate Ky Fan inequality problems. Then, under new assumptions, which are different from the proper quasi convexity and even weaker than the continuity, we provide sufficient and necessary conditions of upper semicontinuity (and usco) of solution mappings for generalized approximate Ky Fan inequality problems under perturbations. Our results extend and improve some known results in the literature.

Abstract: In this paper, we consider robust approximate optimal solutions for a convex optimization problem in the face of data uncertainty. By employing conjugate analysis, we first introduce a robust type closed convex constraint qualification, and then we establish necessary and sufficient optimality conditions for robust approximate optimal solutions of this uncertain convex optimization problem by using robust optimization approach (worst-case approach). In addition, we also introduce types of Wolfe and Mond-Weir robust dual problems and investigate robust approximate weak and strong duality relations. Moreover, as applications, using a scalarization method, we establish optimality conditions and duality theorems for weakly robust approximate efficient solutions of an uncertain multi-objective optimization problem.

Abstract: In this paper, we consider the generic stability of the weakly efficient solution mapping for semi infinite vector optimization problems under perturbations of both objective and constraint functions. We show that the weakly efficient solution mapping is upper semicontinuous and, in the sense of Baire category, most of semi-infinite vector optimization problems are essential. As application of our results, we obtain the density of the set of all problems whose weakly efficient solution mappings is continuous. Our results improve the corresponding results in the literatures.

Abstract: Structural health monitoring plays an important role in protecting civil infrastructures. Smart film bionic monitoring method and video image monitoring method have advantages of high speed and perceptual intuition, so they have been well applied in structural health monitoring. However, the two methods are difficult in detecting structural stress condition and limited in some monitoring aspects. In this paper, a structural health monitoring method and system based on piezoelectric element array is proposed. The experiments show it can detect structural stress condition effectively and display the results by matrix images directly.
